Mayor Landrieu, Health Department and NOPD Host First NOLA FOR LIFE Youth-Police Dialogue

NEW ORLEANS – On Friday, Mayor Landrieu, New Orleans Health Department and the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) held its first NOLA FOR LIFE youth-police dialogue as part of an effort to engage with youth on violence prevention and help young people understand the role of NOPD in their communities. Youth-police dialogues provide participating students with an opportunity to break down stereotypes, remove communication barriers and build mutual respect and understanding.

City Celebrates Record-Breaking NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball Season Eleven

NEW ORLEANS — Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced that NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball Season Eleven was the most highly attended season since the program began in 2012. NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball provides safe recreational opportunities in crime hot spots for young men through mentorship, support and basketball. This season’s winners, OTB 500, won the most 5-on-5 NCAA-type tournaments and received a $1,000 grand prize.

Season Eleven of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball Concludes on Saturday

NEW ORLEANS — On Saturday, April 16, 2016, the City of New Orleans alongside the New Orleans Pelicans, Domino’s Pizza, Nike and PlayNola will conclude the eleventh season of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball, which provides safe recreational opportunities in crime hot spots for young men through mentorship, support and basketball. The last game of the season will include remarks from U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Kenneth Polite.

Mayor Landrieu Announces Eleventh Season of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball

NEW ORLEANS —Mayor Mitch Landrieu, along with the New Orleans Pelicans, RPM Pizza, Nike and PlayNOLA, today announced the start of the eleventh season of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball, a program that  focuses on providing safe recreational opportunities in crime hot spots for males over 16 years old through basketball, mentorship and support. The free eight-week season will kick off at Rosenwald Recreation Center (1120 S. Broad St.) on Sat., Feb. 27.

'NOLA FOR LIFE' Midnight Basketball Season Ten Concludes this Saturday

NEW ORLEANS  —On Saturday, Dec.19, 2015, the City of New Orleans alongside the New Orleans Pelicans, Domino’s Pizza and PlayNola will close the tenth season of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball. The team who won the most tournaments throughout the season will receive a $1,000 grand prize. In addition, all participants will receive complimentary swag from the New Orleans Pelicans.
