Midnight Basketball Season 9

NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball focuses on providing safe recreational opportunities in crime hot spots for males over 16 years old through basketball, mentorship and support. The free 8-week season will kick-off at the Sanchez Center at 8 p.m.  Regular tournament play will take place Saturday nights, from July 18 to September 12  ending weekly at midnight.

NOLA FOR LIFE Speaker Series

On Monday, February 23, the City of New Orleans will host the NOLA FOR LIFE Speaker Series.  The series will serve as a monthly forum for men to engage with a leader from New Orleans. The lecture series will be held at a combination of city-owned facilities, including libraries and NORDC centers.  This month series features Ameer Baraka, Actor and Author. Mayor Mitch Landrieu will host the ninth NOLA FOR LIFE Day on Saturday, January 10, 2015.  All residents are invited to get involved and help rebuild our neighborhoods. Activities will take place in and around Sampson  Playground at 3101 Louisa Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

NOLA FOR LIFE Symposium

Mayor Mitch Landrieu accepted President Obama's My Brother's Keeper Community Challenge, and the result is the NOLA FOR LIFE Symposium. The Symposium is designed to educate the greater local community about the NOLA FOR LIFE strategy, highlight the accomplishments we have seen to date, provide greater insight into the hard-hitting issues that contribute to violence in our community, and set actionable goals to address those issues.
